Or else I have offended a lot of people. That's why I haven't posted anything in the past few weeks. Just figured no one was interested in reading it any longer. I really don't know how to fix the problem. The only suggestion I can give is to bookmark this blog and check in from time to time. If I post anything, it's usually on Sunday. Thanks for writing and letting me know! Have a lovely week!

Hugs
Jane

a lovely week!Janehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01851312702044308420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5051110165755611111.post-54300192895806672212023-03-19T16:15:33.820-07:002023-03-19T16:15:33.820-07:00Hello, I have just found your blog and just love i...Hello, I have just found your blog and just love it. I thought it would be easily available through Ebay, but they want a lot of money for it. Yikes! If I had known that was its going price, I wouldn't have suggested it. I found my edition at the thrift store (of course!). I see Amazon has a couple of used copies for $25. It's a useful book if you are interested in homesteading and how to build things such as solar dehydrators and rain catchment systems. Started our onions this week. In spite of all the snow, spring will soon be here! Have a lovely Sunday!

Hugs
JaneJanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01851312702044308420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5051110165755611111.post-69834883637781717502023-02-26T03:16:09.640-08:002023-02-26T03:16:09.640-08:00You have shared so many good ideas here! It sounds like your cold winters are similar to ours so we hope to plant seeds indoors earlier than normal. The book you mentioned, "How to Do Things" by the Farm Journal sounds good. I tried to find it online but only saw a 1919 publication. I wonder if it has been reprinted and available somewhere? I think my husband would find the book helpful. Those good old days! Wasn't life wonderful when we were younger? If we had only known how crazy the world was going to get we would have treasured each day more. Our big splurge when we were first married was to buy one of those individual bags of chips and one bottle of pop on payday and share it. And we allowed ourselves time off from studying (we were students) on Friday nights. We couldn't afford TV or movies, so we played gin rummy. Applesauce will make a denser cake, but as we have so many apples and therefore lots of home-canned applesauce, it's a real money saver. I made baked beans with the leftover sauce. They were good!

Hugs
JaneJanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01851312702044308420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5051110165755611111.post-40891278357325971102023-02-23T12:15:30.422-08:002023-02-23T12:15:30.422-08:00Hi Jane! They just want to reel us in to watch and read.

I have my free Delaware fishing license number (don't even need a license for 65 and older). I told my husband, that I'm prepared if need be. He says so will everyone else be in competition with me. lol.
Wasn't that expensive missile miss (on the first try) just a hobby club's balloon?
I don't know if it was to take our mind off the real one or not!
Such common sense about buying things. I see thrifting blogs about how little someone spent (and weekly spends) on little items. I was thinking...I wouldn't have bought those at all, and I'd saved that money completely. I like to point out to my husband what I feel like buying and then don't buy...that I saved him that money...lol...he's not fooled by my reasoning. I should sit down and think of younger days starting out, and how we never bought anything except needed food. I remember having $10 one month to buy a shirt for myself. And once sharing an order of fries. And we were no less happier then, probably happier.
Thanks for the recipe. One of my daughters keeps telling me I can substitute applesauce for oil or butter! hugs, andreaAndreahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07446323359240074689noreply@blogger.com
