HERE'S WHERE I LIVE

 http://www-personal.umich.edu/~jensenl/visuals/album/2009/thumb/

Thought you might enjoy seeing some pictures of my home.  It is beautiful even if it is cold and windy! Melville calls the Great Lakes the inland seas, and as you can see from these pictures, it is not a  placid , bucolic place.

  1. THAT is AWESOME! How interesting, beautiful and daunting! Do you actually WALK on the ice??

  2. I don't Matty. My father took me ice fishing a couple of times when I was a kid, but it freaked me out. I live just a couple of blocks from the lake and our street is a direct channel from it. So that is why I talk so much about the wind.

  3. Matty is so right - those pictures are awesome and incredibly beautiful!! What a wonderful place to live. How cold does it get there along the lake?

  4. Well today it was zero degrees. And we don't even think about the wind chill. When the wind isn't blowing, I don't mind the cold at all. Inland a few miles it's about 20 degrees warmer. But I'm used to it, I grew up along the shores of Lake Huron but about 200 miles farther north. Jutting out on all side of the lake makes us vulnerable to lake effect snows. HA! And I always wondered why my ancestors chose to live in such a cold place, yet here I've chosen to do the same!

  5. Wow those were crazy pictures! But I wouldn't be able to go out and take them- Kinda scary being on the ice like that.

  6. Oh my goodness. Those photos are wonderful. I just love the blue ice. I wouldn't be comfortable out on that for very long, and that frigid cold with the wind would be too much for this girl who loves to go barefoot.

Thought by the title that I was going to see your sweet little home. :-)
