Here is a beautiful quote that I want to share with you. Pretty much sums it all up doesn't it?
“This Christmas mend a quarrel. Seek out a forgotten friend.
Dismiss suspicion and replace it with trust. Write a letter. Give a soft
answer. Encourage youth. Manifest your loyalty in word and deed. Keep a
promise. Forgo a grudge. Forgive an enemy. Apologize. Try to
understand. Examine your demands on others. Think first of someone else.
Be kind. Be gentle. Laugh a little more. Express your gratitude.
Welcome a stranger. Gladden the heart of a child. Take pleasure in the
beauty and wonder of the earth. Speak your love, and then speak it
again."

What a thoughtful quote, and so much that we can do each day, for ourselves, and for others.

Hi Jane, oh I do love this one! It's a very good one. Even if you only PICK ONE OR TWO THINGS from this, it can be so amazing.
ReplyDeleteIt's already the weekend already, do y'all have anything planned? We are done decorating, our shopping is complete and we are ready to tackle the presents and get them wrapped and shipped out, hopefully on time this year and not at the last minute, LOL
Hi Debbi! This weekend I have guests coming and it's the "big" Christmas celebration here in the village. Cookie walks and bazaars, that kind of stuff.
DeleteGetting the packages shipped out is on my agenda for the end of the week, also. One of those things that I do not like about Christmas. Already seeing posters in the Post Office for "last day to ship for guaranteed Christmas delivery". Can you believe it's that time of year again?

Beautiful! What a difference this would make in our world.
ReplyDeleteIt truly would, Kathy. Believe it or not, but I have few recollections of the 80s. Guess I was just too busy raising my family. Can't recall any of the fashion trends except for wearing pink high tops with a mini skirt (what I'd give to have that figure back!) and I think I had one of those ripped sweatshirts ala Flashdance. Ha!

Jane, this is wonderful. I was expecting more photos of gorgeous decorations and maybe a cookie or two, but this is so more important. I especially like, be kind. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll be posting more pictures too, Toni. Have to spread them out over the course of 24 days. I live in a tiny house. Ha! Today, just a beautiful thought to ponder.
